Not taking the freeway

I’ve lived in LA 7 years now—and this is my move 9 times out of 10. I’d rather take 32 minutes on surface streets to get somewhere instead of 20 minutes in traffic on these horrid freeways.

You get to people watch, drive by new restaurants, keep the windows down, and generally have a better time. Not every drive needs to be a rush! :)

Posting from my car (parked) after taking the 110 to the 101. I’ve only driven on the freeway five times, and I’m fine with that. I love driving, just not there. Nothing makes me more tense or gives me more back pain. I’ve only had a car for a year, and I know I’ll have a better experience on the freeway once I spend more time on it, but FOR NOW I’m happy to avoid it when appropriate (with the exception of beautiful PCH).
